Continental and Brabus have partnered together to test the new MaxContact MC7 sporty tyres designed specifically for the Asia-Pacific market.
Testing was done at Continental’s prestigious Contidrom testing facility, using the formidable Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition – one of only 25 in existence.
The tyres were wrung thoroughly, demonstrating their ability to handle the enormous 900Nm of torque of the Brabus 750, equipped with 275/35R21 tyres at the front and a beefy 315/30R21 at the rear. It was a perfect marriage of power and precision, showcasing what happens when you pair extraordinary tyres with an extraordinary car.
Dalibor Kalina, Continental’s Head of Business Area Replacement Tires APAC, mentioned, “The new MaxContact MC7 is for drivers who push their everyday driving experience to the limit. Placing these tyres on such a prestigious vehicle not only proves their capability but also cements their status in the high-performance tyre segment.”
Sven Gramm, Director of Marketing and Communications, added, “The Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition is a tribute to Bodo Buschmann, the revered founder of Brabus. This car holds a special place in our hearts, and fitting it with the first Continental APAC-dedicated tyres is a proud moment for us.”
The Brabus 750 itself is a marvel of modern automotive engineering, capable of rocketing from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 315 km/h. The MaxContact MC7 tyres complement this incredible performance by ensuring that all that power is translated efficiently onto the road, offering unrivalled traction and superior braking capabilities.
These tyres feature innovative Cornering Macro-blocks and ReFlex Compound design, which enhance the tyre’s adaptability and grip. This technology optimises the contact area with the road, distributing force evenly across the tyre, which is crucial for maintaining stability and handling, especially during sharp turns at high speeds.
Moreover, the MaxContact MC7 tyres are engineered for safety. They come with 3D Laser-cut Sipes that improve grip and braking performance in wet conditions, significantly reducing the risk of aquaplaning. The silica-rich ReFlex compound facilitates the efficient conversion of kinetic energy into heat during braking, which is essential for achieving shorter stopping distances on both dry and wet surfaces.
This partnership between Continental and Brabus has been delivering exceptional driving experiences for over a decade, reinforcing Continental’s reputation as a top-tier provider of dynamic high-performance tyres. Whether it’s the streets of Singapore or the autobahns of Germany, these collaborations ensure that drivers enjoy not only supreme agility but also unmatched reliability.
