Davanti Tyres has unveiled a new option for track enthusiasts – the Protoura Race.
It’s Davanti’s inaugural dive into the track-specific arena, designed to cater to a wide range of vehicles. The tyre’s directional tread pattern enhances wet performance, alongside a fortified carcass that bumps up sidewall stiffness.
Davanti put the Protoura Race through a relentless trial at notable proving grounds like Spain’s Applus Idiada, Circuit Calafat, and even the hallowed tracks of Silverstone in the UK.
From the controlled aggression of a Golf GTI TCR race car to the road-ready roar of the latest Golf GTI, the Protoura Race was pushed to its limits – tested for its prowess in handling both the ardours of track heat and the cool-downs.
Ray Collier, managing director and chief engineer of TREAD, the independent testing organisation that tested the new tyre with Davanti, remarked, “The result of this stringent testing is a tyre that is best in class for consistency, reliability and speed. It has the ability to withstand changes in temperatures while performing consistently without substantial wearing, allowing it to be used from the track to the road repeatedly.”
Peter Cross, Davanti Tyres’ general manager, added, “It’s an exciting time for Davanti Tyres as we launch our first-ever track tyre. It’s thanks to our rigorous development process that we can offer a tyre that is genuinely engineered to win.”
