Goodyear Unveils EQMAX and EQMAX ULTRA Truck Tyres

Goodyear has just unveiled the highly anticipated EQMAX and EQMAX ULTRA tyre ranges.

Goodyear’s EQMAX and EQMAX ULTRA are a response to the shifting dynamics of the transportation world. With increasing pressure to cut emissions and boost sustainability, the demands on fleet operators have never been higher.

These tyres focus on reducing environmental impact while maintaining top-tier performance. In fact, some sizes of these tyres boast up to 55% sustainable materials, featuring elements like Rice Husk Ash (RHA)-based silica.

The engineers at Goodyear have crafted a new tread compound loaded with silica, which helps these tyres deliver up to 20% better mileage and a 6% improvement in rolling resistance compared to previous models.

The high-abrasion-resistant tread compound not only improves wear but also reduces heat generation, a critical factor in extending tyre life and keeping fuel consumption in check.

The carcass compounds, also infused with silica, help lower heat build-up inside the tyre, further reducing rolling resistance and enhancing durability. This tech makes the EQMAX and EQMAX ULTRA a solid long-term investment for fleets looking to optimise both cost and performance over time.

Drawing inspiration from Goodyear’s FUELMAX ENDURANCE and FUELMAX PERFORMANCE ranges, these new tyres also offer enhanced traction.

The drive tyres, with a deep directional tread profile, are built to grip the road better, while the steer tyres have been toughened up to resist wear and damage. For trailers, the Goodyear EQMAX ULTRA T takes it a step further with a new tread design that incorporates additional sipes, improving grip and braking in all weather conditions.

With electrification taking centre stage in the automotive world, Goodyear has ensured that the EQMAX and EQMAX ULTRA tyres are Electric Drive Ready. These tyres are designed to support a range of drivetrains, whether it’s diesel, gas, electric, or even hydrogen-powered vehicles.

They even feature a higher load capacity than conventional tyres, meaning they’re perfect for electric vehicles that need to optimise range without sacrificing performance.

Each tyre has its own unique RFID tag, allowing for seamless communication with cloud networks. Fleet operators can now track and manage tyre usage down to the individual serial number level, providing better oversight and enhancing overall fleet management capabilities.
