Hankook has recently announced its partnership to become the official tyre partner of the Sepang 1000km and Malaysia Championship Series, two of Malaysia’s biggest motorsport events.
The roar of engines and the smell of burning rubber are set to return to the Petronas Sepang International Circuit (SIC) as it announces an exciting new partnership with Hankook.
This collaboration will see Hankook become the official tyre partner for the Malaysia Championship Series (MCS) and the Sepang 1000km race (S1K) for the next three years, from 2024 to 2026.
“I am thrilled to announce this partnership with Hankook,” said Azhan Shafriman Hanif, CEO of SIC. “This marks a significant step forward for both championships, which have been witnessing increased interest and participation. With Hankook’s expertise in motorsports, I am confident that the 2024 season will be nothing short of exhilarating.”
The MCS, known as the most successful national championship for motorsports, has been instrumental in nurturing young talent and advancing their racing careers, according to SIC.
Hankook, with its experience as the official tyre supplier to Formula E, brings a wealth of knowledge to the table.
The MCS will kick off at Sepang from May 3-5, followed by Round 2 in June, Round 3 in August, and the season finale in September. The S1K, the famous endurance race, will close out the year in November.
This partnership promises to elevate both championships to new heights, providing a thrilling experience for motorsport enthusiasts.
